Daegyeong (Daegu-Gyeongbuk) Branch
Established in 2008 Daegyeong (Daegu-Gyeongbuk) Branch is the first regional branch of the IDIA. The branch members work as interpreters and translators for Templestays, Dharma Teachings for Foreigners, Young Buddhists, Sunday Dharma Teachings for Soldiers and Temple Tours among other activies. Every year the Daegyeong Branch holds classes to teach Buddhists who are willing to become International Dharma Instructors (IDI).
What is the Daegyeong Branch?
In 2007 seven IDIs were newly appointed for the first time from the Daegu and Gyeonsangbuk-do (Gyeongbuk) area. In February 23, 2008 those seven IDIs and one new IDI from 한국불교대학 대관음사 established the Daegyeong Branch.
Now 33 members, including first branch manager Woo SungYeon, second branch manager Lee ByeonHoo, and chief associate Seok GeunHo, as well as six Buddhist monks, are doing volunteering work as International Dharma Instructors, propagating the Buddha’s Teachings.
