KCTW., a subsidiary of the International Dharma Instructors Association,
functions to deliver the values and ideology of Korean Buddhism to locals and foreigners
as well to perform various cultural events based on Buddha’s ideology on equality and compassion.

The value of culture purifies people’s thinking and worldviews and helps cultivate a sense of moral character and respect for others.
Our traditional culture is deeply rooted in the Buddha’s sense of compassion and belief that all sentients beings are equal beings with true inner natures.
‘Culture Sharing’ is the effort to share with and convey these ideas to people around the world through various cultural exchange programs and events.

The value and spirit of culture purify human minds and help cultivating a moral character and personality that understand and respect others.

Purpose of KCTW

Culture should not be the exclusive property of developed countries or the privileged.

‘KCTW’aims to elicit spiritual peace and freedom for all people in the world by informing them about the Buddhist culture and ideas that form the foundation of our Korean history and culture.

Also, ‘KCTW’ aims to contribute to improved emotional stability and higher levels of consciousness by widely informing our adults and youths about the precious value and spirit of Korean culture.

Furthermore, it proposes to support activities for the underprivileged so that they too can obtain cultural benefits.

Ultimately, ‘Culture Sharing’ intends to contribute to world peace and human happiness through culture.

The event with Multicultural migrants

1. Korean speech contest

For foreign workers who have difficulties in a foreign country such as Korea, it is important for them learn the Korean language in order to better adapt to life in Korea. Munhwananum has started holding an annual Korean Speech Contest in order to Increase the motivation and accessibility of those who have difficulties in acquiring the Korean language due to time or money (economics) constraints. Through this, we hope that foreign workers will feel more comfortable and be more prosperous in Korea because of their increased enthusiasm to learn Hangul and more deeply understand Korean society and culture.

2. Ijumin Eoulim Hanmadang(Migrant Athletics)

This is the age of 1 million migrant workers. Thus, we are preparing for an era in which foreign workers and married immigrants from Asia’s Buddhist countries who are currently working in Korea can come together to learn about Korean culture and connect with each other.

3. Participate in immigrant religious events

A project that helps immigrants of various countries relieve homesickness through participation in Dharma Hall events.

4. Korean culture experience for Immigrants

This is an event that helps foreign workers who have left their homelands and have come to Korea to work hard toward their hopes and dreams. This in turn provides them with the chance to learn about Korean culture and build positive and fulfilling relationships with Korean friends during their time in Korea.

We offer customized trips to foreigners who are interested in Korean traditional temple culture and want to learn more about Korea.

Guide local people to understand Korean cultures and Korean Buddhism through practicing Meditation
Get travelers from Korea prepared to stabilize mind and body for their life in the future during their stay in the Center
Set up such programs as ‘A month long living in the States for Mom & kid to get familiar with education and culture in the US and to get prepared for study in the USA’
Provide one to two year ‘Temple Homestay Program’ for students from Korea to study ESL or for degrees
